Laser Therapy Faqs

What is Laser Therapy?
Laser is a specific wavelength of light proven to promote healing in our bodies. Laser therapy uses non radiation light that will not produce heat in the body.

What is the Bioflex Laser Therapy Difference?
Bioflex is a highly sophisticated therapeutic modality that combines the benefits of low intensity laser with superluminous diodes for the effective treatment of many medical disorders. Developed and engineered by Meditech International Incorporated, Bioflex represents the most significant technological advancement in laser therapy.

How Does Laser Therapy Work?
The laser light source is placed in contact with the skin allowing the light energy to penetrate tissue, where it interacts at the cellular level resulting in restoration of normal cell function. Bioflex laser equipment uses a 3 stage treatment process to optimize absorption by tissues in the body, helping to reverse pathology at the cellular level and alleviating the symptoms of pain.

Does Laser Therapy Hurt?
No, because the laser uses non radiating light energy, therefore no heat will be produced. The wavelength used in this type of therapy is not harmful to you or your tissues.

Are There Any Side Effects?
No negative side effects have been observed in the last 20 years of using laser therapy on patients. The laser is scientifically proven to be a non toxic and non invasive technique.

How Long Does it Last?
Once the tissue has sufficiently healed, the cumulative effects of laser can last up to 6 months with no further treatment required.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?
The number of treatments will vary with regard to the individual's condition. Just as every medical condition varies, so will the individual's response to therapy. In a recent report on over 1000 patients treated with the Bioflex Laser Therapy System, patients averaged slightly less than 10 treatments to resolve their condition.

How Do I know if Laser Therapy Can Help Me?
First, review the list of treatable conditions. However, the best way to know for sure if we can help is to come for an assessment with one of our Chiropractors who are Laser Therapy Certified. Once assessed we will know whether your condition can be helped by laser therapy and our related treatments. You can also call or email the clinic at any time to inquire further information: Phone 250-382-7246.
Laser Therapy is the treatment of choice for sufferers of musculoskeletal conditions. Specifically it can effectively treat many medical conditions, including acute injuries, degenerative disorders and wound healing. This therapy is beneficial for any age.

Are There Any Contraindications?

  • Patients on photoactive medications
  • Women in the 1st trimester of pregnancy
  • Patients with cancer (The laser cannot be placed directly over the malignancy but can be used in other areas of the body)
